It is something about University of Michigan people that just know how to get a party started!  Seriously, Jen and Derek’s reception was probably the most fun and high energy group of wedding attendees ever!  Jen and Derek met while attending U of M and later moved to NYC together where they currently reside.  As a surprise grooms cake, Jen got a special Banana pudding cake from Magnolia Bakery created for Derek since that is his all time favorite (I also have a new magnolia bakery obsession thanks to these two).  The thing that I loved most about this couple was the loved they shared, not just with each other, but with their families.  Both families were so close and full of love it was really something inspirational.

Spring was in the air for Molly and Matt and their wedding day could not have been any more perfect.  The weather was a beautiful 70 degree sunny day, they were surrounded by their closest friends and family and most importantly Molly and Matt were were honoring their love and commitment to each other (and of course Izzy the Morkie).  Molly dazzled in her Monique Lhuillier gown and the moment Matt saw her for their first look he lost it.  Their happiness together and love for each other is incredibly apparent.  The Ivy room looked as gorgeous as I have ever seen it.  Laterns glistened from the ceiling and pops of pinks, oranges and yellows created a lovely spring fete.

I love a gal who wears a Jenny Packham and boy did Natalie look like perfection in hers!  These two are amazing for so many reasons, they are kind, funny, smart, loving, but my favorite thing about them was their focus on their wedding days true purpose.  Although everything about their celebration was well thought out and beautiful, on the actual day, they never strayed from the importance of what their celebration was truly about.  Their love for each other and their family and friends and honoring their commitment to each other.  They both were so cool and calm and nothing was going to effect them because they knew they were exactly where they needed to be, which was together!  Our portraits at Union Station and Art Institute were so fitting for the style of their lovely Art Deco Chicago History Museum Wedding.

Allison is so sweet and thoughtful and Alex makes her smile and absolutely adores her.  Not only to they look great together but they perfectly balance each other out.  They married on the most perfect October day in a lavish celebration with many of their friends and family.  Their décor was out of this world, my jaw dropped when I entered the space.  The dance floor was lively into the wee hours of the morning celebrating these two.

Wow! Wow! Wow!  Was Tina and Scott’s wedding something out of a magazine!  Everything about their event had a wow effect!  Tina was a ravishing bride whose long dark hair flowed gracefully down her Vera Wang gown.  Everything about their day was lux from their place card table, their grand huppah, and reception décor with blush and white florals galore.

When I did Tina and Scott’s engagement session, I knew that I was going to love working with them.  They are two of the kindest people with a full passion for life, love, and family.  They make each other laugh (they made me laugh a LOT!) and know how to throw one heck of a party (the dance floor did not clear to nearly 3 in the morning).
